This is a troubleshooting guide, not a live outage monitor. Our data badge describes the client snapshot used by the wiki. It does not certify that the official game service is reachable from your device right now.
Identify the failing stage
Separate a page that never opens from a page that opens but cannot enter the game. Then distinguish a blank game view from an intact menu with a failed server action. These symptoms point toward different next steps. Write down the last successful action and the visible error before reloading: a clear sequence is more useful than “everything broke,” especially when asking the developer for help.
Check that you are using the official game address rather than a lookalike, embedded mirror or cached search preview. Our site overview links directly to the developer’s game. If the address is correct, try opening a normal informational page in another tab to see whether your wider connection works. A working unrelated website rules out a complete connection loss, but it does not establish that the game’s own services are healthy.
Refresh an outdated client carefully
A game tab can remain open while the developer publishes a newer version. Current co-op rooms explicitly identify old clients and request a reload. If you are still in a run, read any save or recovery prompt and avoid treating refresh as harmless. Once you are safely out, reopen the official page and compare the game’s displayed version with the versioned change archive.
If a fresh tab still appears outdated, a hard reload may request newer assets, depending on your browser. Try it on the game page after protecting the active session. Do not install a browser extension that claims to “update” the game. A stale tab is also different from a stale fan guide: the wiki can explain an update but cannot replace the files loaded by a separate official game tab.
Check JavaScript and graphics support
The official landing page says the game needs JavaScript and WebGL. If either is disabled or unavailable, the page may show its fallback message rather than the playable scene. Check the relevant browser setting and any site-specific blocking rule. A privacy or script-blocking extension may need a deliberate exception for the official site; do not disable protections across unrelated websites just to test this game.
Try an ordinary, current browser profile without extra modifications as a comparison when practical. Keep your existing profile intact so you do not lose its settings or login state. If the comparison works, restore your usual setup by changing only the relevant setting and testing again. This is a way to isolate browser behavior, not proof that a particular browser or extension is inherently incompatible with every version.
A black screen is not always a server outage
A menu that loads normally before the scene turns black suggests a different problem from a failed sign-in request. Record whether sound continues, input responds or an error appears. The developer has shipped fixes for black screens, flicker and graphics loading, so first confirm that you are not running an older tab. If the interface offers a recovery option, read what it will do before replacing the page.
Reduce graphics complexity when you can reach Settings, then test in a new session with a familiar character. Lower attack visibility or effect intensity can make a heavy scene easier to render. If the browser has lost its graphics context, continuing to press movement keys will not identify the cause. Our phone setup guide covers additional interruption and orientation concerns that are easy to mistake for a broken game.
Separate low frame rate from delayed server actions
Choppy movement and a slow leaderboard request are different observations. The first may relate to rendering or device load; the second may relate to a network request or service pressure. Note whether the whole page stalls or whether only a particular button waits. The current client includes options for effect brightness, enemies drawn and a frame-rate limit, but changing them will not necessarily speed up a remote account request.
Use a small, repeatable test instead of changing every setting at once. For rendering, compare a similar encounter after reducing a relevant graphics option. For a failed request, wait for the visible result and avoid repeatedly submitting the same action. The developer’s patch history describes retry and saving improvements, but an update note is not a guarantee that a specific unsaved action has succeeded. Look for the actual confirmation in your session.
Co-op stuck on connecting
First compare versions and read each room seat’s status. The current multiplayer flow waits for participants to connect, checks shared map access and reports old clients. A locked destination can keep a room from starting even when the network is healthy. Ask the named trainer to resolve the restriction, or choose a map and difficulty the whole group can enter. Restarting everyone’s browser is unnecessary if the warning already identifies a missing unlock.
If the message concerns player connections, check whether the browser allows WebRTC and whether a site-specific extension rule is blocking it. The game also documents a relay for networks that cannot connect directly. That relay does not make a disabled browser feature available. If allowed on your device, compare another network or a clean browser configuration. Follow the multiplayer troubleshooting sequence and avoid changing managed work or school network rules without permission.
Access restrictions are different from technical failures
The official client includes conditional messages for guest entry, invitation requirements and co-op access. If your screen says an account needs an invitation or a feature is paused, reinstalling the browser cannot legitimately bypass that decision. Follow the live instructions on the official page. Do not give an unofficial “unlock” service your password, session token or payment details because an old video showed a different entry screen.
A scheduled event disappearing can also be expected behavior. Check the source dates in the season and event reference before treating a missing event button as a bug. Likewise, a map or mode may depend on progression. The run-mode explanation helps distinguish an unavailable option from a failed menu. Record what your own account is offered instead of assuming another player’s screenshot represents the same state.
Preserve progress before clearing data
Clearing browser data can remove local settings and session information. If your play depends on a guest session, the consequences may be harder to reverse than a failed reload. Confirm how you sign back in and preserve any recovery information through the official account interface before considering destructive troubleshooting. This wiki has no access to the developer’s account database and cannot restore a deleted session.
Test a separate browser or profile without erasing the original when you need a clean comparison. Do not create conflicting progression experiments and then assume the developer can merge them. If a run has ended but its result is still waiting to save, keep the visible status and error for a report. Avoid using account-reset or delete-account controls as generic repair buttons; those actions have a different purpose.
Produce a report that can be investigated
A useful report names the browser, device category, game version, map or mode, and the action immediately before the failure. Include the exact visible error and whether it happens again after a safe reload. If a screenshot helps, crop out account recovery details, private messages and unrelated browser tabs. Send the report through the official channel linked by the game, rather than posting credentials to a public thread.
For a repeatable gameplay issue, use a familiar starting setup and note the smallest sequence that reproduces it. The starter reference and basic play guide can help describe that setup clearly. Do not diagnose a device-specific problem by assuming behavior from another title: our Megabonk comparison explains why the browser client has a different delivery path. Good troubleshooting ends with a specific observation, even when the final fix must come from the developer.
Frequently asked questions
Does this page show whether PokéBonk is down now?
No. It provides a troubleshooting process and versioned evidence. Check the official game’s current response and its own announcements; a wiki version badge is not a live availability check.
Should I delete my account to repair loading?
No. Account deletion is not a loading repair step. Start with the address, version, browser graphics support and connection checks, and preserve access to your existing progress.
Why does the wiki load when the game does not?
They are separate websites and services. A readable wiki does not establish that the game server, your account request or the browser’s graphics context is working.
